Our Church
Grace began as a preaching station in the late-90s for members of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod who were in Minot. With recent economic growth in the region it was formally founded as a mission church in 2014. Beginning on Easter Sunday in 2016, we started to worship every week in Minot’s Grand Hotel. Early in 2020 we purchased and moved into the old North Hill Baptist building (524 21st Ave. NW). Most recently we completed a massive renovation of this space, which we dedicated on Reformation in 2022. We are excited to use this historical building for ministry as we continue to grow and reach our community.
So, how is a newer church in Minot going to grow when there are many other larger churches that have already established themselves? In fact, why even bother setting up another Christian church in the area? (Does Minot not have enough churches?) It's a fair question, and there are some great churches in town, but we are excited to be starting another church here because we are genuinely believe we have something worthwhile to offer this community.
For starters, we love our town and we are eager to make it a better place. It's why you might find our members sending postcards to new movers in town or volunteering in community events. It's also why as we continue to settle into our own space, we have been offering kids' programs with networking opportunities for the parents. In the future, we’re excited to see how we can use this building to serve our community in other ways.
However, you can find these kinds of things in a lot of churches. In fact, since we are still starting out, you can probably find many churches who do these things a lot better than us. But in a way, that's been good for us. It has reminded us to make sure we offer the only thing anyone should really expect from church: real answers to spiritual questions that are offered nowhere else.
That's the best thing we offer our community. We are a church that refuses to settle for “it’s open to interpretation.” God doesn’t want ambiguity with His Word. It’s there for real answers, real comfort, and real hope. That’s why at Grace, you’ll always hear a practical, yet Bible-based and Christ-centered message that accurately and (if pastor doesn’t get too carried away!) concisely shares what God says. It's also why we invite you to check us out just once, whether you're looking for church or burned-out on church. You might just find what you need.
