Pastor — Nate Walther

Greetings!  I'm a Wisconsin native who moved to North Dakota in 2014.  It’s hard to give you a snapshot of who I am because I have too many hobbies!  My favorite include downhill skiing and brewing beer, but I’ve also been known to enjoy hunting, running, photography, watching football (and fretting over my fantasy football squads), kicking back with a book and a warm cup of coffee, or learning a little bit of guitar. 

I’m blessed to be here with my beautiful wife (Heather) and two rambunctious little boys: an eight-year old (Elijah) and a six-year old (Daniel). 

I can't tell you how much we have enjoyed starting a church in Minot. Heather and I have had the privilege of calling many churches home over the years.  If there's one constant we have noticed between these churches, it's the incredible connections.  Besides actual family, the church is the closest, most tightly-knit family that many people have.  Here in Minot that’s especially true since many people have family elsewhere!  That family-feeling is a blessing we very much enjoy at Grace.

With that in mind, I’d love to meet you and get to know you and your family.  (Stop by, the coffee’s on me!) More importantly, I'd like to connect you with a fantastic group of Christians that come from all different walks of life.  Most importantly, I want to share with you what God has graciously shared with me: the message of Jesus the Savior, and what that means for us.

Mornings with Mommy director — Heather Walther

Hi! As Nate mentioned, our family has been in Minot for a while now and I am a stay-at-home mom for our two wonderful boys. I was raised in Wisconsin, which meant many trips to Wisconsin Dells for waterparks with my family and, of course, watching the Packers on Sunday after church. I love running and watching movies (as my four bookshelves of movies attest to…), and I dislike chocolate.

Beside my two boys, I have been blessed with many opportunities to work with kids. I studied elementary education at Martin Luther College and completed my student teaching in a K-3 classroom in Waco, Nebraska. After I graduated with my degree, I taught 1st and 2nd grade for a year in Salem, Oregon where Nate completed his vicar (pastoral “intern”) year. Then, when we returned to Wisconsin for I year, I was an assistant teacher in a first-grade classroom in Milwaukee. Finally, when my husband received the call to start our church here, I worked in Minot’s CLC program with 2nd grade, and I worked with a three-year-old preschool room in a childcare center until I had my oldest.

I love putting all these experiences into practice in our Mornings with Mommy program. Can’t wait to see you there!
